Upperthinking is a burgeoning D.C. Metropolitan area retail clothing and lifestyle brand, established in 1989 and emerged in 2006. There are four men who comprise the intellectual and stylistic muscle of the brand: Tobi Bello, Bobby Chungong, Idris Shinaba, and Hamid Sengunmaru. The Sugar Shack was able to sit down with Tobi and Bobby in person–with Idris on the phone– in the deserted Colony Ballroom for an interview and chop it up about philanthropy and the drive to give to their communities, QR Codes, style, and developing the Upperthinking brand.
